This snowy weekend is jam-packed with Lunar New Year events and a whole lot of ice sculpting.

Chestnut Hill on Ice
January 28 & 29

The Philadelphia neighborhood of Chestnut Hill is hosting a wide variety of ice-themed events Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The whole family will enjoy live ice carvings, iceless ice skating, axe throwing. lots of winter treats and a special “Kid-Zone” with games and crafts.

Nighttime Sensory Hike

All ages are invited to learn about how animals use their senses differently at night during this after-dark walk through Norristown Farm Park.

Mount Holly Fire & Ice Festival

Mount Holly, New Jersey is hosting their 29th annual Fire & Ice Festival this year. This family-friendly event includes ice carvers, animals, music, exhibits, vendors and a chili cook-off.

Lunar New Year

The Penn Museum’s Lunar New Year celebration will include in-person and virtual family-friendly activities. Highlights include arts and crafts, dances and a poetry reading.

Lunar New Year at Dilworth Park
January 29, 5-7 p.m.

The Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink in Dilworth Park will also be holding a Lunar New Year celebration sponsored by Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communications. There will be a prancing lion, traditional Chinese dancing, a special menu and ice skating sessions.

Ice Princess Weekend
January 29 & 30, 5-7 p.m.

Elsa from “Frozen” and her princess friends, including Jasmine, Elena of Avalor, and Rapunzel, are coming to Philadelphia’s Franklin Square this weekend for ice sculpting demonstrations.

Mommy & Me Artsy Tea

One ticket to Primp & Play’s Mommy & Me Artsy Tea gets one adult and one child iin to paint tea-shaped flower pots, enjoy tea and a sweet treat and get manicures (for the kids) and keratin hand treatments (for the grown-ups).

Virtual Sundays on Stage: Celebrate Ice Cream for Breakfast Day with Ants on a Log and Friends
