The area’s many fall festivals are already underway and more are opening in October. Here’s a taste of some of the festivities both in and out of the city with plenty of fun for kids and adults alike.

Pumpkinland
Now-November 7
Linvilla Orchards, 137 West Knowlton Rd., Media, PA 19063

Linvilla Orchards’ Pumpkinland, which has hundreds of pumpkins for sale and lots more fall-themed activities, is open through the beginning of November. Linvilla Orchards is celebrating 50 years of Pumpkinland this year with a special display.

In addition to classic activities like hay rides and bonfires, Northern Star Farm’s Fall Festival also has special treats and educational opportunities for kids and adults.

Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Rd., Yardley, PA 19067

Shady Brook farm will be holding fall festival activities all month from a Halloween light show to bonfires to sunflower, apple and pumpkin picking.

Froehlich’s Farm & Garden, 3143 York Rd., Furlong, PA 18925

Froehlich’s Farm will be hosting their annual fall festival activities every weekend in October. Attractions include a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, hay maze, bonfires and s’mores and much more.

Harvest Weekend
October 8-10
Dilworth Park, 1 S 15th St., Philadelphia, PA 19102

Enjoy live pumpkin carving demonstrations, circus performers and free pumpkin painting at this weekend-long festival with fun for both kids and adults downtown.

Applefest
October 16, 12-4 p.m.
Fox Chase Farm, 8500 Pine Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19111

This apple-themed festival includes cider pressing, apple butter making, hayrides, pumpkin painting and more.
