Paleopalooza at the Academy of Natural Sciences

Paleopalooza, the nine-day festival of fossils hosted by the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, kicks off this weekend. The museum will holding both in-person and virtual events for kids who love dinosaurs. Check out the exciting programming:

Junior Scientist Workshop: When Did Dinos Rule the World?
October 16, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
In-person

Kids will be able to explore fossil specimens from the Academy’s collection to learn about the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Participants will take home their own fossil cast.

Drawn to Dinosaurs: Paleopalooza Edition
October 19, 6-7 p.m.
Zoom

Calling artists of all skill levels! You’re invited to learn how to draw dinosaurs from paleo-artist Jason C. Poole, while learning facts about their discovery.

Paleo Playdate: Dinosaur Party!
October 20, 10:15-11 a.m.
In-person

Ages 3 to 5 are invited to bring their favorite plastic dinosaurs to this fun-filled preschool party that will also include a story time, drafts and more.

Paleopalooza Weekend
October 23 and 24, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
In-person

Finish out the festival with a weekend full of special Paleopalooza events at the museum including guided tours, crafts and talks.
