Seasons Greetings from your friends at MetroKids!

The hustle and bustle of holiday prep is just about over. The time is nigh to settle in and make the most of winter break, days off and — most importantly — family.

Top Picks for This Weekend

See history come to life at Washington Crossing Historic Park’s FREE Christmas Day Crossing Reenactment in Washington Crossing, PA Thurs. Families line the Delaware River to watch hundreds of re-enactors dress in Continental military garb, listen to an inspiring speech by General Washington and row in replica boats across the water. Pick up the excitement on the other side of the river Sat. during the Battle of Trenton Reenactment at Trenton, NJ’s Old Barracks Museum.

Enjoy a flurry of indoor wintry activities Sat. during Winterfest at Aston, PA’s IceWorks. Whether you take advantage of discounted skate sessions or bring Frosty accessories for the team Snowman Building Contest, there’s fun in store for all ages. Add giveaways, figure skating & hockey exhibits, free skating lessons, s’mores making, crafts and hot chocolate to the mix, and you just may spend the whole day there.

Let it snow – and let the magic of the holiday season continue Sat. at the Delaware Children’s Museum’s Snowflake Festival In Wilmington. Along with cookies, hot chocolate, face painting and access to the Horizon Riverfront Rink, families can create icy masterpieces from frozen paint cubes, engineer marshmallow igloos, interact with alpacas, catch a special drum-line performance of The Nutcracker and meet Frozen’s Anna, Elsa and Olaf.
