The Basics

How she spends the weekend:
My favorite weekend activity in the early fall is a trip to the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. The boardwalk is not crowded and I give each child some money to spend at one of the arcades. No crowds = more fun. We also like to visit local parks to play on the playground and walk through the woods. Dinner at Grandma and Grandpa’s on the weekend is almost always a guarantee.
Reflecting on parenting:
Each of my children is different and special in their own way. I try to be fair to all of them while showing them that I love them for who they are. My children are all strong, independent and have very good self-esteem, so I must be doing something right. [My husband and I] have learned to pick our battles and sometimes to let the kids express themselves, even if we don’t agree with their choices. Of course, this is only on matters that are not harmful to themselves or others.
