Shame Shame

Shame on the government for acting less mature than my children. The folks in Washington are doing the equivalent of “I’m taking my ball and going home,” and rather than some neighborhood kids having to look for a different way to amuse themselves, 800,000 people are out of work.

Visiting Center City for a meeting, I was struck by how quiet it was at 5th and Market. The line of buses full of school children learning about their forefathers was missing, the gaggle of tourist who take pictures in front of the Liberty Bell were much smaller, the clop of the horse-drawn carriages along the cobblestone street was absent. A man dressed in a poor imitation of a colonist delighted some visitors, but he wasn’t as passionate or animated as other actors I have had the pleasure of learning from. Even the guards seemed bored, calling to each other about lunch at 9am rather than leading visitors into the national treasures.

These protestors were out:

Shame on you if you are like these folks from Jimmy Kimmel:

My friend who posted this said it correctly: This is sad, absurd, funny, not funny…so many things.

In Pennsylvania, the deadline to register to vote is 30 days prior to each election. Applications received after that date will be processed for the next primary, special, municipal or general election. This past Monday, Oct. 7, was the last day you could register to vote on Nov. 5th.

If you stay home on Election Day, you are just as bad as the politicians in Washington who aren’t doing the job we elected them for. I implore you, make sure you exercise your right to put people in office who will do the job we have elected them to do.
