This weekend sees a wide array of family-friendly events in the Delaware Valley including outdoor movies, arts workshops and a special dog day.

Warminster Parks & Recreation Annual Egg Scramble
July 16, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
1100 Veterans Way, Warminster, PA 18974

This is a kids-only event open to ages 3-10. Participants will search for eggs scattered around Warminster Community Park and receive candy and prizes.

Alex & the Kaleidoscope + City Love
July 16, 5-7:30 p.m.
Smith Memorial Playground, 3500 Reservoir Dr., Philadelphia, PA 19121

The July show of Philadelphia’s Kidchella Music Festival features Alex & the Kaleidoscope, an interactive band for young children, and City Love, a West Philly-based social justice and music education group. The music festival curated for kids will include food trucks, giveaways and play time on the playground.

Maureen Duffy of the Fleisher Art Memorial will be leading an arts activity as a part of the organization’s Annual Young Artists’ Exhibition.

Movie on the Lawn – “Raya and the Last Dragon”

This outdoor Movies on the Lawn event invites local families and neighbors to an all-ages showing of “Raya and the Last Dragon.” Attendees can enjoy music, food trucks and access to the Berman Museum’s exhibitions.

Plant Magic: Printing with Plants on Fabric and Clay

The Clay Studio and The Fabric Workshop and Museum are co-sponsoring an outdoor art workshop where participants of all ages are invited to experience the magic of nature using clay and fabric.

Free Library Dog Day Featuring Author/Illustrator Sarah Jacoby

The Parkway Central Library is hosting a dog-themed day in Shakespeare Park, located across the street from the branch. Families are invited to bring their dogs to meet children’s book author and illustrator Sarah Jacoby who wrote a charming book about a girl and her dog called Can I Sit With You?

Ages 6 and up are invited to learn facts about our local watershed, explore the critters in the creek and learn how pollution gets into our waterways.

Hear My Voice North Philly Family Dance Party

This free family dance party will include food, arts and crafts, jugglers, local DJs, high school artists and special guest rappers.

Drive-In Movie – Incredibles 2

Head to Historic Smithville Park for a free outdoor viewing of Incredibles 2 on Saturday night. Bring popcorn and your favorite snacks.

Frozen Event at Sweet & Sassy

Kids are invited to a “Frozen”-themed makeover at this salon and spa which will include dancing and singing along to the movie’s songs. They’ll receive a princess up-do, polish, eye shadow, a tiara and snacks.
