Healthy Halloween Treats

0

The last thing kids need at a Halloween party is more calorie-filled, cavity-inducing candy to set their teeth a-chattering. These easy snacks are so eerily appetizing, young revelers will never notice the healthy ingredients — the nut-free options are especially ideal for classroom parties with junk-food restrictions.

Trade for Treats

A night of trick-or-treating can yield more candy than kids can eat for the rest of the year. Get rid of excess sweets via the 9th annual, pay-it-forward Halloween Candy Buy Back program. Participating local dentists “buy back” candy in exchange for small tokens, from healthy treats to $1 per pound of tooth-decaying goodies traded in. The stash is then sent to American troops overseas, along with toothbrushes and other oral-
care items. Dentists throughout Pennsylvania, South Jersey
and Delaware are ready to
start the buy-back. Log on to
Halloweencandybuyback.com, type in your zip code and find your nearest participating dental office.
