Don’t Miss MetroKids’ 9th Annual Super Camp Fair!

0

Come to the MetroKids Super Camp Fair this weekend, and get a jump on the summer!

As the largest regional camp fair, the Super Camp Fair outgrew its former venue, so the Plymouth Meeting Mall hosts the event this year on Sun., Jan. 29 from 1-4pm. Admission is FREE!

This event offers one-stop shopping for your summer camp plans. You’ll find 75+ camps onsite with staff you can to talk to as you start or refine your plans for how the kids will spend summer break. Camps can fill up quickly, and it’s not too early to start reserving spaces in the programs your kids will love best. You don’t want to miss out on a great camp opportunity because you learned about it too late!

What you can expect to find at the Super Camp Fair

Crafts & activities

Many camps will offer hands-on activities for the kids at their booths, like food-science activities from Hungry Education, a fiber and stone craft from Primitive Pursuits, a sewing project from The Handwork Studio and live animals to interact with, courtesy of Riverbend Environmental Education Center. While the kids are busy, you’ll have a chance to ask camp directors all the questions you have about their summer programs.

Entertainment

Play carnival games provided by J-Dogs Catering and Amusements, or have Mr. David C. Perry draw your caricature during your trip to the camp fair. Test your marine science knowledge at Chincoteague Bay Field Station’s booth, where families can enjoy an interactive touch tank of sea creatures like spider crabs and sea cucumbers!

Prizes

Several camps will give away prizes that you can only enter to win onsite at the Super Camp Fair.

The YMCA of the Greater Brandywine will give the first 100 registrants a camp kit complete with drawstring bag, water bottle and sunglasses. Dave & Buster’s will have coupons and additional kid-oriented prizes, and One Liberty Observation Deck will give away family four-packs of tickets and a Kindle Fire to some lucky winners.

Other camps will award discounts or scholarships to their programs, including:

Also, the first 100 families who registered for the fair will receive the MetroKids stuffed goodie bag, full of toys, games and snacks, when they arrive at the Super Camp Fair.

Spend some time with MetroKids this Sunday, and discover a wealth of camp options for your kids to enjoy this summer!
