Father’s Day weekend is coming up and the Philadelphia area has a wide variety of events to celebrate dad’s special day. From fishing to woodworking to a Sesame Street-themed weekend, you’re sure to find something perfect for your family. Check out these five events happening in our area:
Father’s Day Weekend Fan Fest
Sesame Place, 100 Sesame Rd., Langhorne, PA 19047
Celebrate Father’s Day at Sesame Place with a sports-themed weekend. The Father’s Day Fan Zone will have mascots and icons from favorite local teams, and the buffet meal will include entertainment from Elmo and friends and a free photo for dads.

Storytime Brunch with Cousin John

Cousin John, the author of the Chase series books which feature children of color that all kids can relate to, will be reading aloud from his books at this Father’s Day brunch. Families will be able to participate in a Q&A with the author and receive a signed copy of Chase is Ready for Takeoff.
Father’s Day Family-Friendly Wood Workshop
June 20, 1-4 p.m.
AR Workshop Chestnut Hill, 8607 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118
The whole family is invited to the AR Workshop Chestnut Hill to learn how to make a variety of items out of wood including a sign, trophy shelf, game board and more.
Father’s Day Kayak Cruise & Picnic
June 20, 4-6:30 p.m.
Hidden River Outfitters, Walnut St. and Schuylkill River Trail, Philadelphia, PA 19106
Celebrate Father’s Day with a guided kayak tour of the Schuylkill River, where you’ll see the Art Museum, Fairmount Water Works and the city skyline. It will also include a festive catered picnic at the Schuylkill Banks Park.
