Top Picks for This Weekend

Philly’s pop-up park The Oval brings a slew of family activities to Eakins Oval Friday through Aug. 18. While weekly fun includes games, a play area, fitness classes and a beer garden, stop by for opening-weekend festivities like art workshops, live music, quzzio and a movie screening.

Here's what else is happening in Philly this weekend.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing Saturday at either of two out-of-this-world extravaganzas. In Philly, The Franklin Institute hosts themed tours, rocket-launch demos and film screenings. And The Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art in Collegeville, PA features spacey activities and opportunities to meet a NASA ambassador.

Discover something new during events at museums near you.

Good old-fashioned family fun abounds during the Delaware State Fair in Harrington through July 27. Held at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, all ages enjoy carnival rides and games, livestock exhibits, a circus, cooking demos and fireworks.

There's plenty more things to do in Delaware this month.
