Exciting news for Lego fans across the greater Philadelphia area! The LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia will have its grand opening on April 6, 2017 at the Plymouth Meeting Mall.
The indoor attraction features a ride called Creative Express, where visitors travel along the track from Brick Station through fun LEGO-themed scenes, shooting at targets along the way. Depending on your family dynamic, this could be a fun competition to see who the best sharpshooter is!
The Discover Center also has a 4D cinema where you can watch a LEGO adventure while water, wind and fog effects inside the theater make you part of the action.

- LEGO Creative Workshop

One thing that LEGO stores, parks and centers are known for are their intricate models of real-life objects built from LEGO bricks. The new Discovery Center will include MINILAND Philadelphia, an interactive display of the city with such recognizable buildings as One Liberty Place and the Comcast Building. MK staff were on-hand this morning at Philadelphia City Hall, where Mayor Jim Kenney helped with the big reveal of the amazing Liberty Place structure (above). LEGO lovers will be awestruck by these builds, which use thousands of pieces each. The grand total of LEGO bricks used for MINILAND Philadelphia is nearly 1.5 million!
If you have children ages 2-10 who love LEGO, put this place on your radar. The Discovery Center will host both open play times and birthday parties. Groups of 10 or more homeschoolers also can reserve the Creative Workshop for a build class with a master builder at a discounted rate.
