Start off the new year with winter festivities and fun art projects happening throughout the Delaware Valley this weekend.

Star(t) Your Year Off Right
January 7, 3 p.m.

At this event for ages 10 and up, participants will write down intentions, hopes and encouraging phrases for the new year and fold the paper into tiny origami stars.

Fire & Frost Fun
January 7, 4-8 p.m. & January 8, noon-8 p.m.
Peddler’s Village, 2400 Street Road, New Hope, PA 18938

Peddler’s Village will have bonfires, family activities, treats and a sprawling ice sculpture display during the last weekend of its holiday light display. Kids can win prizes by participating in Find Jack Frost, a family-friendly scavenger hunt throughout the village.

Join Hoffman Park’s chief naturalist on an evening walk to see Mercury as it approaches its furthest point from the sun. For ages 10 and up; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Meet and take photos with the Dino Ranchers at Sesame Place this weekend. Reserve your spot for a meet and greet online ahead of time.

Saturday Mornings with Colonial

Join the Colonial Playhouse for their monthly Saturday morning family programs. First up this year is a silly and educational puppet show by Digger and David.

Create a Snow Globe

Ages 6 and up are invited to create this own snow globe to celebrate the season. Pick up figurines and glitter from Norristown Farm Park.

PECO Family Jams: Found-Object Robots

Families will receive a free craft kit with admission to Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens this Sunday. Kids will be able to create a small robot out of found objects.

Don’t miss the last few days to see the special holiday train display at the Brandywine River Museum of Art. The 2,000 feet of track include model trains that travel through a vast landscape that will delight young people.
