Delsy Morales, a senior at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmingon, has received the Delaware Boys & Girls Clubs Youth of the Year award.
She has been a member of the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club for more than 10 years, and is a participant in the basketball and swim teams, the Teen Cafe and the Keystone Club, a group dedicated to leadership, community service and character-building. She has a 3.8 grand point average at Howard and in conjunction with the schools co-op program, works at the Henrietta Johnson Medical Center as a Patient Care Navigator.
As Youth of the Year, she will receive $3,000 in scholarships, a computer and printer, and a digital camera. She also advances as a candidate in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Youth of the Year awards.
“I can truly say Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club saved my life and thousands of other members as well. The Club knows me better than I know myself, and they always encourage me to realize that I am better than what I think – and they are absolutely right,” says Delsy.
