After launching in 2023 to widespread acclaim, the Please Touch Museum recently announced that it will be continuing its “A Playful World” themed programming through September 2025.
The museum’s leadership is hoping to spread its core values of the “Four C’s”—creativity, compassion, confidence and curiosity—by hosting family-focused events and traveling exhibits.
As part of “A Playful World,” the museum has introduced a new event series: “Journey Together,” which aims to illustrate how children can develop important motor, cognitive, social and learning skills through play. These programs are designed for children aged eight months to five years across four different groups, with the “Play Builders” program for three-year-olds and their caregivers being a free pilot program that is open to all who wish to attend.
“These four special event days highlight how the Four Cs are foundational to early childhood learning,” explains Tracy Curvan, the Please Touch Museum’s chief revenue and strategy officer. “As the museum develops programs and special event days for visitors, we keep each ‘C’ at the forefront of our planning to ensure we are embedding one or more of the ‘Cs’ in the experiences and programs we offer to children and families.”
“A Playful World” also includes the return and expansion of the museum’s adult-focused events. The Please Touch Museum launched their 21+ Museum Nights earlier in 2024 to wide acclaim, allowing older guests to experience the wonders of childhood again through programs that allow them to engage with the exhibits.
Additionally, the museum has introduced Play Works at PTM, which offers the opportunity for professional parties to rent out the museum for play-based team-building learning sessions.
“We hosted our first-ever 21+ Museum Nights event last summer and it sold out in days, which tells us that adults are looking for fun, engaging ways to meet new people while revisiting play in an entirely new way,” Curvan said.
While the museum’s list of upcoming programming extends through September 2025, Curvan pointed out a few notable upcoming “A Playful World” events, including their annual Countdown to 2025 New Year’s Eve celebration; their Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event; and their second 21+ Museum Night.
