MomSpeaker Darla DeMorrow put her professional organizing skills to good use, coming up with a smart, simple way to wrangle her brood&#39;s snow boots: a DIY rolling boot tray.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Normally my front hall closet looks like this for my family of four. Maybe it looks familiar to you?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/content\/uploads\/data-import\/d79cda3e\/Boot20tray202.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have had my eye on some rolling shelves, but they were too big. What I really wanted was a sturdy old drawer box, maybe from a dresser that wasn&rsquo;t worth keeping? I only had about 20 inches width to work with.<\/p>\n<p>You know what they say: The harder you work, the luckier you get! At the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.habitatphiladelphia.org\/restore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Habitat for Humanity ReStore<\/a>, I spied a brand-new, solid-maple extralong drawer box. This baby is a whole 4&nbsp;feet long!&nbsp;I have to contain myself here, but I almost did a full-on happy dance in the store!<\/p>\n<p>The rest, as they say, was history. This project didn&rsquo;t even sit in my garage more than about a week, I was so amped to get on it!<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Flip it over and add casters.<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/content\/uploads\/data-import\/d79cda3e\/Boot20Tray203.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Line the inside with pretty contact paper.<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/content\/uploads\/data-import\/d79cda3e\/Boot20Tray204.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Add a nice, big pull handle.<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/content\/uploads\/data-import\/d79cda3e\/Boot20Tray205.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Step 4: Enjoy my new organizing boot tray!<\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/content\/uploads\/data-import\/d79cda3e\/Boot20tray207.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Oh, my gosh, folks, I can not tell you how happy this makes me!&nbsp;And the best part might just be that in the summer, I can push it all the way back, so I don&rsquo;t even have to think about snow!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/content\/uploads\/data-import\/d79cda3e\/Boot20tray208.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"right-justify-pic\" src=\"\/content\/uploads\/data-import\/84497e7d\/Darla1.jpg\" \/>Darla DeMorrow is a Wayne, PA mom, professional organizer and author.
