Summer vacation. Love it or hate it?

I love having the kids home. We take lots of mini-trips. Our favorite places include the zoo, beach & amusement parks. We even drove to Florida once!

Getting your kids excited about school?

I still haven’t found a way. But the girls do love being able to wear new clothes. 

Favorite thing about Delaware?

I love that we’re close to fun cities like Philly, New York & DC, but far enough removed to still live life at a slower pace.

How do you beat the summer heat?

Lots of water ice! Bernie’s (in Wilmington) is the best.

Favorite summertime meal:

Anything we can grill, and seafood. I will do anything and everything to avoid cooking in the house.

I’ll never forget the time…

…my daughter won 1st runner-up in the Ms. Juneteenth pageant, just a few weeks ago. It was focused on pregnancy and substance abuse prevention. I felt so proud of her and her motivation to work toward being a great woman.
