The Basics

Kids & Pets: My husband Todd and I have two little girls, affectionately referred to as “the divas.” They are Ashlyn Kendal, 7, and Avery Kendra, 4. We have a one-year-old spunky cat named Finn. He is full of energy, loves to sneak attack anyone who visits and sharpens his nails on our family room furniture daily.
What do you like best about being a parent?
One of the simple joys of being a parent is watching my children learn and discover something new. Gaining their independence and developing their little (or big) personalities with each new experience is amazing to witness.
Share a special holiday tradition for your family.
Every Christmas Eve, we enjoy an early dinner at my in-laws’ house with friends and family. Then we drive by Santa Claus Lane (off Rte. 72) on our way home. Every year the girls stare at the thousands of lights in amazement and anticipation of Santa’s arrival. It is amazing to see the magic in their little eyes.
All-time favorite holiday movie:
The Grinch. Such a classic story of how the holiday spirit is within each of us.
Dream winter getaway destination:
Anywhere with hot sand and cold drinks.
New Year’s resolution:
Live in the present. You cannot change the past and worrying about the future doesn’t do any good, so live each day to the fullest. Spend time with your family and friends and enjoy every second.
