Philadelphia Ranked in Top 10 of Kid-friendly Airports
PHL's kids play area along with its summer and holiday entertainment programs placed it among the nation's best for keeping kids happy while traveling.
There are enough things to do wtih the kids at Philadelphia International Airport that it was named the eighth most kid-friendly airport in the country.
Upgraded Points, a website dedicated to travelers, cited PHL's summer entertainment program, which features video games, caricaturists and story time with local authors as well as its Ready for Takeoff play area in Terminal A (pictured above).
If you're like most people, you don't want to spend a minute longer in any airport than you have to, but when traveling — and when traveling with kids especially — you need to get to TSA with plenty of time to spare so you don't risk missing your flight. When things go smoothly, that can mean having more than a hour to kill waiting for your flight to leave.
At Philadelphia International Airport, you can take the kids over to Terminal A and have them pretend to fly a jumbo jet or play air traffic controller.
Since departing from one airport means landing at another (ideally), here is the full top 10 list of kid-friendly airports:
- San Francisco
- Washington DC
- Philadelphia (Yo!)
- San Jose
With luck, you won't have to spend any more time than is necessary in any of them, but if you do, at least there's a chance to find something to keep the kids occupied.
