Two MK families recently tested a pair of wheeled products from Yvolution. Here are their reviews of the Y Glider XL scooter and the Y Velo Balance Bike.
Yvolution Y Glider XL
"The Yvolution Y Glider is awesome! My girls, 9 and 5, were ecstatic over the color combo first. The hot pink-and-black color is 'superstylish, cool and pretty.' The girls enjoyed the scooter's ability to adjust from 'li'l sister size' to 'big sister size' (even with their short stature) by the push of a small button on the side. The rubbery handlebars, foot plate and back brake are exceptionally comfortable, durable and easy to maneuver. The three-wheel design made it so easy for my 5-year-old to keep her balance and develop her coordination skills.
My mini reviewers would have liked to see the Y Glider XL fold up compact, and although they caught on to the lean-in steering, they confess that it felt kind of awkward. The girls believed it would be much better if the handlebars could actually turn to steer.
Overall, the Yvolution Y Glider is a smart, fun, durable, smooth-riding scooter that is easy to maintain. My family and I enjoy it and are looking into purchasing a Velo Balancing Bike in the future!" —Angill N.
Yvolution Y Velo Balance Bike
"The Y Velo balance bike is very well made and easy to assemble. At first, Austin was upset there were no pedals on his bike, since he is used to riding a tricycle or 'big wheels.' It took a little while for him to get the concept of pushing and balancing with his feet. It also took a few tries to get the proper seat and handlebar heights, but once we figured it out, Austin was able to use the bike properly and liked it very much. Since Austin is only 3 1/2 years old, he will get a few more years use out of this bike and I am sure that, due to its quality, it will last not only that long but long enough for a few cousins to use it also. Although it won't replace a regular bicycle with training wheels, it is a different, fun way to ride a bike that he is enjoying very much. Thanks for letting Austin 'test-drive' it." —Scott A.
