Get up-close with fluttering butterflies at the Butterfly House at Tyler Arboretum in Media, PA, which features plants that feed various species of butterflies, along with caterpillars. The House is open through the end of Aug. Free with admission, $5-$9.

Circus trains at Morris ArboretumThemed trains occupy the tracks of the Garden Railway at Morris Arboretum in Phila. this month. Through Mon., July 5, it’s Circus Week, with Big Top trains & surprises for kids. On Sat.-Sun., July 17-18, Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends take over the track. Free with admission, $7-$14.

You can also see trains at the South Jersey Museum of American History in Glassboro, NJ. From Sat., July 3-Sun., Aug. 15, the Museum displays antique toy trains from the 1950s-60s. Open Thurs.-Sun. Free with admission, $3-$4.

The Kutztown Folk Festival, the oldest folklife festival in the U.S, returns Sat.-Sun., July 3-11 to the Kutztown Fairgrounds with America’s largest quilt sale, craft demonstrations and historical re-enactments. Head to the Children’s Farmyard Theater for puppet shows, sing-alongs & storytimes or visit the Children’s Petting Zoo to see farm animals & to navigate the hay maze. $11-$12, ages 12 & younger free. Leashed pets welcome.

Kids' art at Main Line Art CenterFREE Main Line Art Center in Haverford, PA presents Artistic Travels Through Time, an exhibit of art projects created by kids in their summer camps, on Friday afternoons at 2:30pm through Aug. 20. Weekly themes include “March Back to the Medieval,” “Walk Like An Egyptian Artist” & “Flash Forward to the Future of Art.”

FREE Award Winners X, a 10th annual summer exhibit at the Biggs Museum of American Art, runs Fri., July 2-Sun., Oct. 24. Paintings, photographs, sculptures, literature, music & crafts created by distinguished members of the Individual Artist Fellows of the Delaware Division of the Arts (DDOA) will be on display. These local artists were selected for the fellowship prize from hundreds of entrees.

FREE The Downingtown Library will display LEGO creations built by community members of all ages from Tues., July 13 through the end of the summer. You can drop off your models to be part of the display Tues., July 13 & Tues., July 20. 610-269-2741.

FREE The Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery in Eastampton, NJ presents a juried photography exhibit, Tues., July 20-Wed., Aug. 25. Various subjects from photographers living the tri-state area are represented, including portraits, landscapes, abstracts & candids.
