Museum Speaker Series

While kids go to The Delaware Children’s Museum in Wilmington to play, parents can go there to learn. A monthly Speaker Series through March is designed for moms and dads who “may find parenting as exhausting as it is exhilarating and are looking for the ‘manual’ they never got on how to maintain sanity while raising their children,” says Museum CEO Julie W. Van Blarcom.

On Wed., Jan. 12, local expert and certified parenting coach Yvonne Nass leads a discussion on self-esteem. Attendees will learn the stages of self-esteem development and how to effectively encourage their kids. Future talks focus on balancing work and family (Wed., Feb. 2, with Real Simple magazine editor Kristin van Ogtrop) and the benefits of playtime (March 9, with University of Delaware education professor Dr. Roberta Golinkoff). $20 per session. Register by calling 302-442-6862 or visit www.delawarechildrensmuseum.org/speaker-series
