Meet Our CoverKid: Jordan C.
Jordan C., 10, the youngest of four sibs from Williamstown, NJ, brought a bit of her personal style to our February cover: The active 5th grader (she runs track, loves cheerleading
and does gymnastics) models the latest in tween hair trends — blue ombré streaks (subtle but cool)!
Her family: Mom Irma, dad Jonathan, sister Dominique (23 — student), brother Anthony (21 — US Navy, stationed in Guam), brother Jonathan Jr. (13) and dog Ocean (5).
Jordan’s faves: Food — cheesesteak; school subject — math; movie — James and the Giant Peach.
Future plans: “I’d like to be a teacher when I grow up.”
Family fun in her backyard: “We love to attend the Williamstown High School football games. Also in the fall we spend a lot of time at Owens Park for games: I cheer and my brother plays football for the Monroe Twp. Braves. I also spend a lot of time in the spring at Church St. parks for baseball games. In the summer we like to ride down the bike path through Williamstown.”
Cold, what cold? “I like to put my mat out in the driveway and work on my back handspring or my tuck with my friend Sydney until it is too cold to be out there. I also love to play in the snow, but mom doesn’t like that word!”
Born to be Orlando-bound: “We love Disney World; we have gone every year since I was in my mom’s stomach! They found out she was pregnant with me a month before leaving for my siblings’ first trip, so she always says I was there!”
Why hers is an MK family: “Mom always looks through MetroKids every month, either for a recipe she wants to try (uh-oh) or a new kid-friendly outing for us during a winter, spring or summer break. And she likes to see what new ideas or companies may be listed; she loves MetroKids.”
