Grayson School, The
At Grayson, we are passionate about helping gifted students find a place where they can be challenged and have a chance to grow — opportunities they may not have elsewhere. Not all gifted children are the same, and we know that they need different things from school: high-ability learners need to be able to progress at their own pace and at their own level, and they benefit from interaction with both intellectual and social peers. Our faculty and staff have extensive training in understanding and nurturing the social and emotional development of gifted children, and can appropriately support their needs.
Our academic program, based on research-based best practices in gifted education, is designed to meet each student at his or her own ability level. Every day includes project-based learning, coding, and other STEM activities that allow our students to lead, explore, and answer complex questions and challenges. Very small class sizes allow for both ability and peer groupings within a unique and individualized vertical curriculum design.
The Enrichment Center at The Grayson School offers Saturday morning and summer camp programs for all gifted learners in the greater Philadelphia region. Our extracurricular programs challenge gifted children to think critically, ask and answer difficult questions, solve problems, stretch their minds, and have fun! Courses are not for curricular advancement, but to give students a chance to explore topics of interest them that they may not have exposure to at school.
