Tradition has it that Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag. At her restored home, expect to meet a Ross re-enactor, who is on-hand to answer questions. In a Kids’ Kitchen exhibit that opened last summer, kids can prepare a meal as Ross would have two centuries ago.
Did You Know? The site of the Betsy Ross House has been an upholstery shop, a shoemaker shop, an apothecary and a tavern through its history.
Tour Tips: Many Sundays throughout the year feature storytimes and crafts with Betsy Ross. Or take a kid-friendly audio tour any day the museum is open, for $5 including admission.
