Community Holiday Parade

Starting at Rex & Germantown Aves. in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, PA 19118

The Chestnut Hill Community Association is hosting their annual Community Holiday Parade in the neighborhood featuring marching bands, choirs, antique cars, horses, Santa Claus and even the Phillie Phanatic.

Meet Aspen the Reindeer

Kids can find out what a real reindeer looks like up close at this event. They’ll have the chance to meet and pet Aspen the Reindeer and take a photo with Santa.

Family Cooking: Celebrate!

Culinary Literacy Center at Parkway Central Library, 1901 Vine St., Philadelphia, PA 19103

Join the Parkway Central Library for a family cooking class centered around the theme of celebration. Everyone will work together to prepare pizza, veggies, cupcakes and fruit soda.

History Explorers Club: Unboxing the Hessians

Learn facts about the Hessians and make your own Hessian helmet during this event. The History Explorers Club is suited for ages 7-11 but is open to kids of all ages.

Full Moon Walk

Ages 8 and up are invited to experience a two-mile hike under a nearly full moon led by a local park ranger. You’ll have the chance to see some nocturnal animals and the beautiful starry sky.

Season of Light Planetarium Show

This special December show at the Edelman Planetarium explores why humans are so fascinated by light and traces the many holiday customs that revolve around light.

Alpaca Christmas at Harley Hill Farm

Enjoy an old-fashioned and magical family holiday experience at this Bucks County alpaca farm. Visit with Harley Hill Farm’s 30 alpacas, enjoy complimentary hot coca, browse local Christmas trees, listen to holiday music and decorate a live wreath.
