Nocturnal Bug Hunt
August 27, 7:30-9 p.m.

All ages are invited to meet the insects up close that are awake when we’re sleeping.

Family Nature Discovery Days: Who Made That Track?

John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, 8601 Lindbergh Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19153

The environmental education team at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge will teach participants of all ages about the tracks that different animals make at this month’s family-centered activity.

Butterfly Celebration
August 28, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, 1615 Black Rock Rd., Royersford, PA 19468

Local experts Dave and Audrey Harding from Marvelous Monarchs Butterfly Habitat will be sharing information on butterfly rearing and migration at this celebration of everyone’s (or at least most of our) favorite insect. There will also be crafts and butterfly bingo for kids to enjoy.

Langhorne Rotary Pet Fair & Family Fun Day
August 28, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
The Mayors Playground, 180 Cherry St, Langhorne, PA 19047

This year’s Pet Fair and Family Fun Day hosted by the Rotary Club of Langhorne includes a new area for kids with fun activities. There will also be a petting zoo, exotic animal tent and show, pet parade and pet photo booth.

Teddy Bear Clinic

Kids can bring their stuffed animals to the zoo on Saturday to receive a health exam from staff.

Historic Cooking, Ice Cream

Learn how people in the 18th century made ice cream in this cooking demonstration.

Griot Tale Saturday: Storytelling by Keepers of the Culture

Autism Play Date

This free event will have sensory-friendly activities, food, autism-related resources and materials and COVID-19 vaccines.
