Life at a glance:
Stay-at-home mom to three boys, ages 13, 9 and 5, and a dog named Yukon Cornelius. Resides in Columbus, NJ.
What is your favorite outdoor activity to do with your family in Columbus?
We love to go for walks, bike-ride and fish at Country Lake on Columbus Road. We are still trying to catch the big bass!
What other hobbies do you have as a family?
We bake, garden, pick blueberries in summer, sled-ride in winter, bowl, swim, boogie board, play board games and visit the library. The boys love to play cards with their dad and grandparents.
Do your boys ever experience any sibling rivalry?
Of course! I am the mediator immediately. Both sides must explain, and then I ask them to look inward, avoid blaming and find encouraging words to uplift the other person. We talk it out as a family and discuss how we can handle it differently next time. Sharing, honesty, encouraging words and forgiveness is always taught.
As a homeschool mom, what is your favorite thing to teach?
I love to teach science and lessons from the Bible. We always go on field trips, and MetroKids is a source of ideas and information to use — it’s my nighttime reading!
What do you love most about being a mom to three boys?
They are loving, fun, full of life and a gift from God. There is no unimportant moment in their lives, and they are so precious and rewarding. I love to be part of their journey.
