DE ‘Forgives’ Storm-Related School Closings

0

Delaware public school districts will not have to make up the days lost to weather this school year. The State Board of Education has voted to forgive storm-related school cancellations on these dates:

  • Nov. 13, Kent and Sussex Counties (flooding)
  • Feb. 8, Kent and Sussex Counties (storm)
  • Feb. 10-12, all counties (storm)

In addition, the Board “forgave” the Indian River School District for canceling school on Sept. 8, due to road closers and traffic restrictions for the funeral of Chad Spicer, a Georgetown police officer killed in the line of duty.  Click here for the Department of Education news release.
