Looking for ways to make your Father’s Day weekend extra-special? We’ve compiled more than a dozen ideas for a family outing. Here’s to you, Dad!

Go to the zoo. Camp out at the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, PA, learn from a Jim Henson puppet master at the Philadelphia Zoo and celebrate wild animal dads at the Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington, DE.

Learn at a museum. Discover Turtle Travels at the Delaware Museum of Natural History in Wilmington and Mummies of the World at The Franklin Institute in Phila. Both exhibits open Saturday. The Academy of Natural SciencesFore the Planet! educational mini golf game also offers a special golf craft activity just for Father’s Day.

Take a day trip or weekend getaway. Johnson’s Popcorn hosts a Father’s Day Family Fun Fest on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk. Also at the shore: fresh crabs and clams galore at Baymen’s Seafood & Music Festival in Tuckerton, NJ. Or skip the beach and head to Lancaster County with your youngster for a Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine. For a local adventure, check out a local spin on the popular CBS reality TV show: "The Philamazing Race."

Connect with nature at Linvilla Orchards’ Raspberry Festival in Media, PA; Firefly Festival at Terhune Orchards in Princeton, NJ; Earth Fair in Burlington, NJ; or Enchanted Summer Day at Winterthur in Wilmington, DE.

Celebrate with music at the Kimmel Center’s Summer Solstice all-day/all-night celebration in Phila., or Delaware 99.5 WJBR’s J. Bear Family Picnic.
