Love Your Park Week, an annual celebration of Philadelphia’s parks, is happening now through May 16. The volunteer opportunities and scavenger hunt are open to all ages. A collaboration between Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Philadelphia’s Park Friends Network, Love Your Park encourages Philadelphians to take care of their local green spaces.
Volunteers will tend gardens and flower beds, care for trees and clean up parks all over the city. There are many clean-up and beautification events with volunteer slots still open this week. Sign up on Love Your Park’s website.
Love Your Park is also hosting a kid-friendly scavenger hunt. Participants have the chance to explore parks throughout the city while discovering public art, natural art, history and fun facts. There are fun challenges and plenty of photo opportunities. Prizes will only be awarded through this week, but the scavenger hunt will be open until the end of May.
