It’s the season for ice skating, and more than enough ice rinks are open for public skating across the Delaware Valley. Choose from outdoor rinks, skating clubs that offer lessons, the Philadelphia Flyers’ own training center and more. Please confirm with venues regarding current COVID-19 health and safety protocols before visiting.

Chester County

Power Play Rinks
Where: 710 Haywood Drive, Exton, PA 19341
Cost: $10; $3 skate rental

Power Play Rinks celebrates 20 years of business this year. It offers public skating and ice hockey programs, figure skating and speed-skating lessons.

Delaware County

Philadelphia Skating Club
Where: 220 Holland Ave., Ardmore, PA 19003

You’ll find multiple ways to enjoy a fun outing to the ice rink at America’s first skating club. The Philadelphia Skating Club hosts a Sunday Family Skate and open public skating on Friday evenings.

Premier Orthopaedics IceWorks
Where: 3100 Dutton Mill Road, Aston, PA 19014
Cost: Free for ages 4 and younger; $10 for ages 5 and older; $2 skate rental (free on Wednesday)

The skating sessions at Premier Orthopaedics IceWorks are fun for all ages and experience levels, perfect for an afternoon or evening out with the family.

Skatium

Home to multiple high school ice hockey teams, the Skatium is an ideal place for young people to get skating lessons. It offers both public skate and open hockey sessions multiple times a week.

Springfield Ice Rink

New Jersey

Flyers Training Center

Local ice hockey fans will be thrilled to skate on the same rink that the Philadelphia Flyers practice on. Sessions are available at various times throughout the week, and Voorhees residents skate for free on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons.

Hollydell Ice Arena

Cost: $10

Hollydell Ice Arena offers public skating sessions for anyone who wants to skate recreationally. The arena also has sessions for those interested in practicing hockey skills, playing a pick-up ice hockey game and practicing figure skating (additional charges apply).

Igloo Ice Rink
Where: 3033 Fostertown Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054
Cost: $16 for adults, $10 for older adults, $10 for ages 4 and younger, $10 for military; skate rental free

All ages are invited to come skate with family and friends at the Igloo Ice Rink in Mount Laurel.

WinterFest Ice Skating at Cooper River Park

Featuring a 60-by-120-foot outdoor ice rink, Camden County’s Cooper River Park transforms into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights and food vendors.

This Delaware River waterfront spot is another fun place in the city for outdoor ice skating. Not only is there a skating rink at the Blue Cross RiverRink’s Winterfest, but fire pits, games, food, drinks, and thousands of sparking lights also enliven this destination.

Rothman Orthopaedic Institute Ice Rink

Dilworth Park, in front of City Hall, transforms into a winter wonderland all season. The Rothman Orthopaedic Institute Ice Rink is open for outdoor ice skating. The Wintergarden is an inviting place to sit among twinkling lights, and the Rothman Orthopaedics Institute Cabin serves seasonal dishes and cocktails.

Wissahickon Skating Club

Cost: $7; $3 skate rental

Enjoy public skating on Saturday afternoons at the Wissahickon Skate Club, which offers skating and hockey lessons.
