Every dog has his day – and more than 160 breeds will get theirs Sat. & Sun. during the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s National Dog Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. Dog-loving families cheer on canine competitors as they strut their stuff during demos. Make sure to swing by the MetroKids’ Family Fun Zone to say hi to the MK crew and have fun with a moonbounce, face painting (Sat.), caricatures (Sun.) and dog-themed crafts & giveaways.

Greet the season with Ben Franklin tonight, as the beloved Founding Father turns on the lights for the opening night of the Franklin Square Holiday Festival featuring Electrical Spectacle: A Holiday Light Show in Philly. Through Dec. 31, discover the magic of the holidays with carols, dancing snowflakes, warming stations, kids’ craftivity hours, Lightning Bolt Holiday Express train rides around the Square, Santa Saturdays and the main-event light show, featuring sights like a 12-foot-tall kite & key synced to holiday music.
