VFES provides school and summer programs, transition skills programming and clinical-consultation services for children and young adults, 2-21 years of age, with special needs. Through its programs—The Luma Center for Development and Learning, Summer Matters, The Vanguard School, and Vanguard Transition Center — VFES offers direct services to young people as well as professional development and support to families, schools and community organizations.

The Vanguard School's Learning-for-Life philosophy integrates clinical services with academic, social and vocational skills.

The Luma Center offers individual speech-language and occupational therapy, early intervention services, therapeutic pre-K/K programs and social skills groups.
We offer post-secondary education, career development and social and life skills development to young adults ages 18–21 who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, mild emotional disturbance and/or neurological impairment.
