Many museums, art centers and events in the Delaware area offer free and low-cost ways to experience art with your family.
Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington
Every Sunday, get in free to explore the museum’s collections & exhibitions. On the last Sunday of every month, the museum hosts Sunday Studio Series, where kids ages 3-12 & caregivers can drop in for an art project for just $5.
Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Wilmington
Admission is always free to this modern art center that holds exhibitions, lectures and art classes. An exhibit at the end of March, New Work, explores the lives of adolescents. Make art at free family programs.
Biggs Museum of American Art, Dover
Admission is always free. The museum hosts the “Free Three” each month. On First Friday, enjoy tours, activities & performances. On the first Saturday of each month, kids ages 5-10 can participate in Biggs Kids and explore art forms. On third Wednesdays, kids ages 3-5 can participate in art activities during the Mini-Masters program. On Family Movie Nights, enjoy flashlight tours and a movie.
Brandywine River Museum, Chadds Ford, PA
Admission is free every Sunday morning from 9:30am-12noon. Explore a large collection of American art and be on the lookout for special events like story times.
