Nutritional Benefits:

Blueberries may be the superstar superfood of this bunch, but blackberries and raspberries also provide an overall nutritional boost crucial to growing kids. Antioxidant-rich berries aid bone development through high levels of manganese and vitamin K, which aid calcium-absorption. And as brain food, berries help to improve memory and general cognitive function as a result of anthocyanins, the antioxidants that give fruit its distinctive color. So when you go picking, remember: The deeper the color, the bigger the nutrient punch.

Farmers' Picking Tips:

• Pick raspberries that are a darker shade of red.
• The easier to pull off the bush, the more ripe the raspberry is.
• Watch out for thorns!
