Pennsylvania Boy Named Library of Congress Contest Winner

A Pennsylvania boy was named the Grand Prize winner in the 2018 Library of Congress Summer Writing Contest.

Tyler Williams, who entered through Spring City Free Library in Chester County, wrote about the Harry Potter series on the theme of "A Book that Shaped Me." He will receive $250 in gift cards and be honored Saturday, Sept. 1, at the National Book Festival in Washington DC. The festival is a free event where the public can meet dozens of authors, poets and illustrators and ask them to sign books. 

Sarah Jane McMann, who entered through the Hockessin Library-New Castle County Libraries, was the Delaware state winner. She wrote about Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets
