Pop-Up Van Gogh Exhibit at King Of Prussia Mall

Do you have a hard time keeping your kids from touching the art when you take them to a museum?

Good news! A pop-up exhibit of works by Vincent Van Gogh is now at the King of Prussia Mall and, because they are all replicas, kids can not only touch them, but are encouraged to do so.

The exhibit, organized by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, will make King of Prussia its first stop in a US tour that includes Boston, Denver and LA. It opens Thursday in the Lord & Taylor Court through Oct. 14. Admission is $5 for adults, but kids and military personnel are free.

"How can Van Gogh's heritage be made available globally, without endangering the collection? Most of the masterpieces are so delicate that moving them around is hazardous, yet not everyone is able to visit the museum in Amsterdam," says the Van Gogh Museum in explaining the reason for the tour.

The 3D replicas, which include Almond Blossom, Sunflowers, The Harvest, Wheatfield under Thunderclouds, Boulevard de Clichy, Undergrowth, The Bedroom, Fishing Boats on the Beach at Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and Landscape at Twilight, allow visitors to not only see the famous works up close, but to feel the brushstrokes.

This is also rare chance for those with impaired vision to get a sense of Van Gogh's work by feeling the paint on the canvas.
