Description:

This zoo features 1,500 animals, including the largest colony of African black-footed penguins in the U.S. Other visitor favorites include elephants & chimps. Free self-guided Zoo Treks for pre-registered Maryland schools engage students in science, math, reading and more. One adult is admitted free for ever four students; additional adults and children are $11/adult and $8/child. Also available: ZOOmobile presentations, homeschool programs, overnight trips, climate change awareness programs, Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core State Standards- aligned ZooLabs, customizable guided tours, downloadable activity guides/sheets for before, during and after visits, and order forms for meals and Wild Things Gift Shop gift bags.
