Philadelphia, PA 19103

There has never been a more exciting time to attend summer camp at The Franklin Institute! This summer, The Franklin Institute is opening Your Brain— the largest permanent exhibit in the museum’s 80-year history. Campers will also have the opportunity to explore two limited time special exhibits on display this summer — 101 Inventions That Changed the World and Circus! Science Under the Big Top.

Choose from 11 weeks of Discovery Camp, each with a different theme ranging from deep-sea monsters and messy experiments to chemistry and astronomy. Designed for children in grades Pre-K – 8, each camp day includes interactive science activities, museum exploration, live science shows, a snack, break for lunch, and time for outdoor play. Campers may also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, take field trips, and see planetarium, IMAX® and 3D films.

Can’t make it into the city for camp? Campers may also enjoy The Franklin Institute’s signature brand of hands-on science learning at Valley Forge National Historical Park and the Katz Jewish Community Center (JCC). Discovery Camp at Valley Forge National Historical Park is offered from August 11-15. Much of the camp time will be spent outdoors, learning about ecosystems, natural resources, weather, and the history of the park itself. Campers will also have the opportunity to become a Junior Ranger! Discovery Camp at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, NJ is offered for two weeks; July 7-11 and 14-18. Campers will be immersed in interactive science learning while utilizing the vast resources of the Katz JCC, including indoor and outdoor pools, classrooms, and a state of the art recreational facility.

All camp sessions run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with early arrival and late departure options available. Half day programs are also available for Pre-K campers.
