PECO Family Jams: Identity Banners

Feb 9, 2020
12:00 PM until 04:00 PM

In David Alexander Robertson’s When We Were Alone — the Free Library’s youth selection for One Book One Philadelphia —  a young Cree girl learns why her grandmother “dresses in rainbows,” and how self-expression can lift our spirits. Isaiah Zagar, creator of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, also understands the therapeutic effect of color, creativity, and self-expression. Chase away the winter blahs in our vivid art environment by making a bright banner, stamped and painted with things meaningful to you.

Join us for a reading of When We Were Alone at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Learn how Isaiah uses art to lift his own spirits on family-friendly tours at 1:00 and 3:30 PM.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s one-of-a-kind, family-oriented programs, featured every second Sunday of the month between NOON and 4:00 PM. All PECO Family Jams workshops and activities are FREE with admission and no reservations are required, but visitors must still purchase museum admission tickets. Tickets are timed and often sell out. Please ensure entry by purchasing tickets in advance.
