In Matt de la Peña’s Last Stop on Market Street, the children’s selection for the Free Library’s One Book, One Philadelphia, CJ learns from his Nana to see beauty in everyday urban moments. Isaiah Zagar, creator of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, uses salvaged materials to create such moments throughout the city. Join us as we read the story, then use cardboard, markers, and paper fasteners to create movable characters, creatures, buses, buildings, animals, and friends to take home. Visitors will listen to a reading of Last Stop on Market Street at 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
Family-friendly tours will be held at 1pm and 3:30pm to learn more about the venue and its creator, Isaiah Zagar.
