Norristown Remembered: The Art of Frank Batson

Date/Time

Feb 21, 2017 to Apr 29, 2017
01:00 PM until 04:45 PM

This event occurs daily, every weekday.

Description

A Norristown native, Frank Batson has been interested in art nearly all of his life. Batson graduated from Norristown High School in 1954, and many of his paintings are inspired by his memories of Norristown and the surrounding area from the 1940s, ‘’50s and ‘60s.

Some of the buildings and places still remain. Other scenes are long gone, but Batson’s paintings bring these places back to life. Batson, now a resident of Worcester, paints from both photographs and personal memory to bring back these views of Montgomery County with remarkable accuracy.

The Historical Society is open Mon. and Thurs., 8am-5pm; Tues. and Wed., 1pm.-8pm. For Saturday hours, call 610-272-0297.
