This event occurs weekly, on Sunday and Saturday.
Oshogatsu is the Japanese New Year, celebrated on the first day of January. Celebrate the holiday early with lush flower arrangements and traditional decorations of pine, bamboo and berries.
Displays for the new year’s tea and holiday games will be on view, along with an exhibition of winter kimono. The Jizo statue will be decorated with a traditional cap and bib, and the kamishibai story Hats For Jizo will be shared.
Wear warm socks (slippers are available, too) and warm up with a complimentary cup of green tea on the veranda to enjoy views of the winter Japanese garden.
