Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival

Jan 12, 2019 to Jan 13, 2019
01:00 PM until 08:00 PM

This event occurs daily, every 1 day(s).

The festival is a medieval Epiphany celebration (when the Three Kings arrived in Bethlehem).

The history of the Boar’s Head reaches back into the days of the Roman Empire. The Boar was the first dish served at great Roman feasts. In Norman England, the Boar was the sovereign of the great forests, a menace to man and a symbol of evil. The serving of the Boar’s Head feast thus represents the triumph over evil.

The St. Peter's Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival is a grand re-enactment of the traditional Boar's Head feast as well as the journey of the Three Kings to Bethlehem. The performance features local dancers, singers, musicians, acrobats, the Cameron Highland Pipers & Drummers as well as our own Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace, also known as Beefeaters, who are the fabled ceremonial guards of the Tower of London.
