Sensory-friendly Sunday

This event occurs monthly, on the first Sunday of January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.

The restaurant teams up with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders to provide fun in a  sensory-friendly setting. Modifications include less crowding and reduced noise. You'll even enjoy an appearance by mascot Chuck E.

Sensory Storytime

Fumo Family Library

This interactive storytime is for children who have sensory processing issues, are on the autism spectrum or feel overwhelmed by noise and crowds. Preschool=level books and songs engage the five senses to develop literacy, social and gross and fine-motor skills. Fidget toys and weight pads will be made available, and children are encouraged to bring their favorite lovely, toy or fidget.

Day-Off Camp: Walking the Wissahickon

The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education

Explore the Wissahickon Valley – a major tributary into the Schuylkill River – on this field trip. Kids will look at water quality, find hidden trails and find the Lenape tribe’s Native American statue. Please have your child a packed lunch, water bottle and weather-appropriate clothing, including shoes that can get wet.
