Students must supply their own needles. 8” to 10” US size 8 (5mm) in wood, metal or plastic, though wood is preferred. Practice yarn will be provided. You will learn basic knitting stitches and finishing techniques.

PECO Family Jams: Inkblot Interpretations

In the venue’s exhibition Blood, Sweat and Tears, artist Russell Craig uses his art to work through personal trauma and address social justice issues. In one series of work, Craig paints faces and other images on inkblot-like patterns. During this program, you’ll make your own inkblot and interpret what you see in the form.

Celtic Harp Music

Musician Renee Arner will play some special music on the Celtic harp in honor of St. Patty's Day, which is coming soon.  Learn about the history of the Celtic harp and what makes a tune Celtic.  For some of the songs children will be invited to dance.  At the end of the concert they are given a chance to try the harp.  Ages: 5 and up with an adult. Tiny Tots Nature Walk

This event occurs monthly, on the second Monday of January, February, March and April.

You and your toddler will experience nature as you share walks on the reserve, art activities and story time.  The walks provide an introduction to animals, plants and nature in general. Dress for the weather. All children must be walking and accompanied by an adult.

Morning Bird Walk

The northern migration of waterfowl begins in March. The park's wetland areas, creeks and the pond will be the focus on this morning bird walk.  This is an opportunity for home schoolers and others to learn about bird species. Bring binoculars if you have them. Meet in parking lot #3.
