Event Date/Time

Sep 28, 2013 to Jan 26, 2014
9:00 am until 4:30 pm

This event occurs daily, every 1 day(s).

The Wizard of Oz traveling exhibit utilizes the arts, science & physical challenge to create values-based lessons from the beloved American classic film. The Wizard of Oz. The exhibit invites guests of all ages to embark on a multi-sensory, cross-disciplinary exploration of the Land of Oz and, along the way, engage in a journey of discovering personal strengths & gifts.

Pass through the theatre marquee into the theatre lobby and from the lobby into the movie itself, from the Gale Farm to the Land of Oz. In the Land of Oz, explore Munchkinland, Crossroads, the Wicked Witch’s Castle & Emerald City.

The primary focus of each area is:

  • Marquee Entrance — Introduction to the Movie
  • Gale Farm — Farming, Nature & Illusion
  • Munchkinland — The Arts
  • Crossroads — Personal Strengths & Values
  • Wicked Witch’s Castle — Physical Challenge
  • Emerald City — Light, Wonder & Science

Throughout the exhibit, special interpretive graphics called Movie Moment Messages highlight scenes in the movie relating to the characters and the lessons showcased in each area. The panels are written to the caregivers, encouraging them to discuss these important topics with children in order to help children discover & develop their personal strengths & character qualities.
