This 500-acre park preserves much of the landscape that Washington’s troops saw as they launched a counterattack here in 1776-77 that led to triumph in Trenton. You’ll also find a 19th-century village with shops, a general store, an inn and homes that provide clues as to what living conditions were like.
Besides the annual Christmas re-enactment, the site hosts monthly hands-on colonial history programs for families. Download a map on their website or go on a guided tour to see the historic buildings located within the park.
Kidbit: Kids can check out the Kid’s Corner online before visiting (or print the pages & bring them with you). The fun section features puzzles & lessons and even answers the question 'Did George Washington ever have a Hershey bar?'
