George Washington & his Continental Army spent the winter of 1777-78 here, during the Revolutionary War. Daily activities include a Jr. Ranger activity book and badge (pick up at the Visitor Center or download from the website), an orientation film shown every half hour, tours of Washington’s Headquarters, and self-guided tours of Washington Memorial Chapel.
In the summer, daily kids' activities include "Become a Junior Ranger" & "Join the Continential Army" programs & storytelling benches. All above events are free to the public. The park can be explored by car, foot or bike.
Kidbit: At the Children's Exploration Station in the Visitor's Center, explore the history of George Washington's horses, both Nelson and Blue Skin (Washington's personal favorites), and their roles during the encampment at Valley Forge.
